The New York Giants are not currently enjoying themselves. For a team that exceeded expectations last year, made the playoffs, and added talent such as tight end Darren Waller and linebacker Bobby Okereke, they deteriorated further.
The Giants’ 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night was another humiliating performance by the team. The offensive unit, notably quarterback Daniel Jones, who was sacked eleven times, was the focal point. Although he did not have much time in the pocket, he is not exempt from responsibility for his play.
Multiple San Francisco 49ers players criticized Jones after their 30-12 victory last week. Over a week later, 49ers defensive lineman Arik Armstead decided to troll Jones by asking why he threw the ball away so rapidly in their matchup compared to the Seahawks, who had “a career day.”
Arik Armstead mocks Daniel Jones following the 49ers’ Week 4 loss to the Seahawks.
A bit of NFC West envy? The number of sacks recorded by the Seahawks in a single contest was equal to their franchise record. Since they were ineffectual without starting left tackle Andrew Thomas and even rookie center John Michael Schmitz, it was surprisingly simple.
However, this is another instance of a 49ers player criticizing Jones’ abilities as the primary quarterback. Here is what an unnamed athlete shared with Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle:
“The dude did not want to throw the ball,” said the anonymous player. Early on, it was evident that it was not going to occur. Everything involved a checkbox. At that juncture, we were aware of the time.
Dre Greenlaw, a linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers, was willing to sign his statement: “A lot of people who make all that money don’t even merit it. I believe they took a risk by paying him. He’s not terrible am I. “If you don’t have anything better,”
