76ers Fall to Celtics in Preseason Home Opener

The Philadelphia 76ers hosted the Boston Celtics for their first preseason home game since May, looking to secure their first win of the preseason.

Several key players were absent for the 76ers, with Joel Embiid and James Harden given another night off as part of their ongoing rest strategy. Furkan Korkmaz, a veteran reserve, was sidelined with a leg strain. While De’Anthony Melton made his preseason debut, the Sixers were without Danuel House.

The Sixers’ core players put up a strong effort against the shorthanded Celtics but fell behind by seven points at halftime.

Despite the Celtics resting most of their starters in the second half, the Sixers struggled to gain an advantage in the third quarter, and Boston entered the final quarter with a 90-75 lead.

From that point onward, the Celtics maintained control of the game, resulting in a 112-101 victory. The Sixers’ preseason record dropped to 0-2.

Despite the loss, the Sixers can take away some positive performances from the game. Here are the three standout players from the night.
