Furkan Korkmaz, a veteran reserve, was sidelined with a leg strain. While De’Anthony Melton made his preseason debut, the Sixers were without Danuel House.
The Sixers’ core players put up a strong effort against the shorthanded Celtics but fell behind by seven points at halftime.
Despite the Celtics resting most of their starters in the second half, the Sixers struggled to gain an advantage in the third quarter, and Boston entered the final quarter with a 90-75 lead.
