Once more, stamps will become more expensive in 2024.
Effective January 21, the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp will increase from 66 to 68 cents, as announced by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
Use single stamps on letters that do not exceed one ounce in weight. The price per additional ounce will remain unchanged at 24 cents.
“As inflationary pressures on operating expenses continue and the effects of a previously defective pricing model are still being felt, these price adjustments are needed to provide the Postal Service with much needed revenue to achieve the financial stability sought by its Delivering for America 10-year plan,” the Postal Service stated in a press release.
Approved by the Postal Service’s governing body, the modifications increase the cost of mailing services products by approximately 2%.
Postcard mailing costs are also increasing, regardless of whether the cards are being sent domestically or internationally. International letter mailing fees are increasing from $1.50 to $1.55.
