The Guinness World Record for the most whole blood donated belongs to an Albertan woman in her 80s who has been giving blood consistently for almost 60 years (female).
According to Guinness World Records, Josephine Michaluk, 80, started donating blood in 1965 when she was 22 years old and has since given a total of 203 units. A pint of blood is approximately one unit of blood.
Apparently, Michaluk’s sister persuaded her to make her first donation.
She told GWR, “I decided I would join her and that was the beginning.”
O+ is a popular blood type, and Michaluk said she appreciates knowing that her contributions are benefiting other people.
She remarked, “I feel like I have it in me to contribute.” “I can tell others about it.”
