On the Oscars red carpet in 2023, superstar Rihanna was the center of attention. Prior to her highly anticipated performance of “Lift Me Up,” the song from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” that also earned Rihanna her first-ever Oscar nomination this year, the singer posed for photographs in a sheer leather gown at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night without her boyfriend A$AP Rocky.
Just a week after she shared brand-new pictures of her son on social media and hinted that he wouldn’t be attending the biggest night for the film industry, it appears Rihanna may have also brought her toddler son with her, according to host Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue (though it’s unclear if he actually attended the ceremony). “My son when,” she captioned the picture.
Rihanna has already had a very busy year! Her appearance at the Oscars will be her second return to the stage as a performer after a nearly seven-year absence. She and Rocky previously attended the 2023 Golden Globes. At Super Bowl LVII, Rihanna made her musical comeback with an electrifying halftime performance. She also subtly announced that she is expecting her second child.
