The Los Angeles Angels are searching for a new manager after declining Phil Nevin’s 2024 contract option, as announced by the team.
Monday night, the Angels announced the move. Nevin managed the Angels for portions of two seasons, compiling a 119-149 record. He assumed the position after the Angels dismissed Joe Maddon in 2022.
Despite being lead by former MVPs Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, the Angels finished fourth in the American League West with a record of 73-89. They missed the playoffs for the ninth straight season.
The Angels have been guided by four different managers since 2018, when Mike Scioscia’s 19-year tenure came to an end.
