As Oettinger departs with a lower-body injury, Heiskanen and Duchene lead the Stars past the Senators

Matt Duchene and Miro Heiskanen scored 44 seconds apart in the third period, and Dallas defeated the Ottawa Senators 5-4 on Friday night, following the departure of Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger due to a lower-body injury.

Additionally, Thomas Harley, Joe Pavelski, and Esa Lindell all scored for Dallas, which trailed 4-2 at the midpoint of the second period.

Five minutes later, Oettinger extended his right pad toward the post, and he skated to the tunnel at center ice after signaling an official to call a timeout.

11:46 marked Pavelski’s thirteenth power play goal, which was the result of Dallas’ second tip-in attempt.
