Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon Pictures Are “So Awkward,” Mila Kunis Agrees

The chat room now features Mila Kunis. The “Luckiest Girl Alive” actor expressed her thoughts on those widely circulated photos of Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon stiffly standing together on the red carpet, entirely lacking of their on-screen chemistry. You know, the wildly mememed, widely tweeted images. Unsurprisingly, Kunis concurs with the general consensus that they appear pretty uneasy.

“Even yesterday night, [Mila] sent us an email. “You guys look so weird on the red carpet together,” she remarks.” While promoting the Netflix movie on the “Today” show on February 6, Witherspoon made a revelation. “When you know a girlfriend so well, it was just fun to get to know her partner since I’ve loved her for so long,” she explained.

The mother of three continued by saying that she and Kutcher “had to learn to be friends” before shooting ever started in order to make their on-screen friendship seem genuine. “We started talking every day and sharing short FaceTime movies about a month ahead of time,” she recalled. “”These are my dogs, these are my babies,” I exclaimed. Moreover, my kids would make fun of him for his football team.”

After a photocall on January 30, where they stood side by side yet ever-so-slightly apart, apparently unsure what to do with their hands, Witherspoon and Kutcher were the subject of memes. The costars reunited three days later for the international premiere of “Your Place or Mine,”

The tweets quickly rolled in. “I’m losing my mind, they look like siblings forced by their mom to take a photo,” one Twitter user wrote in response, while another quipped, “I choose to believe the Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon romcom is about to be so spicy they needed to look like they hated each other for the press tour to avoid drama.”

It’s worth noting that Kutcher and Witherspoon have also enjoyed far less awkward moments while promoting their rom-com, but those have received less recognition. Read ahead to see standout photos from their joint press tour, artfully arranged from most to least awkward, and watch “Your Place or Mine” when it hits Netflix on 10 Feb.
