Jamal, a black overweight boy in high school, is often the target of cruel jokes and whispered insults due to his size. One day, the most popular girl in school, Melissa, approaches him during lunch and asks him to the school dance.
Jamal is surprised and excited, but on the night of the dance, Melissa reveals it was all a prank to humiliate him. Devastated, Jamal flees the scene and collapses in tears.
