Stoughton, Massachusetts – Controversial blogger Aidan Timothy Kearney, also known as “Turtleboy,” has been charged with witness intimidation and conspiracy related to a high-profile criminal case involving a woman accused of running over and killing her boyfriend, a Boston police officer, with her vehicle. The charges stem from Kearney’s advocacy on behalf of the accused woman, Karen Read, and the legal proceedings surrounding her case.
Kearney, who appeared in court wearing a hoody that read “Free Karen Read,” was arraigned on multiple counts of intimidation of a witness, juror, or law enforcement official, along with a single count of conspiracy. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance, with the condition that he must not have contact with individuals connected to Read’s murder case.
Kearney’s lawyer emphasized that his client “vehemently denies” the accusations, asserting that Kearney’s opinions are protected by the First Amendment. The charges against Kearney are related to his conduct regarding the case of Karen Read, who stands accused of second-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter while impaired, and leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly running over her boyfriend, John O’Keefe, in Canton in January 2022.
