A young boy named Tony notices something strange about his mother’s body during her wake. He tells his uncle about the missing scar on her hand, which was different from the one he remembered. The funeral is quickly stopped, and Tony, who is still grieving, becomes convinced that the woman in the casket is not his mother. He slips away from the mourners and heads to the back offices of the funeral home to investigate. Using his detective skills, he finds his mother’s file and discovers a file belonging to an unidentified woman with the same initials, JD. Tony feels that this discovery is important and sits down to examine the contents of Jane Doe’s file.
