On Sunday night, Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey surpassed the 30-goal mark for consecutive field goals to begin a career when he made four field goals against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dallas took a 10-0 advantage late in the first quarter on the 60-yard field goal. Aubrey became the first NFL kicker to make two field goals from a minimum of 59 yards in the same contest in the third period.
The 59-yarder gave the Cowboys a 27-13 lead and enabled Aubrey to surpass Greg Zuerlein and Harrison Butker, who both had a pair from a minimum of 58 yards in the same contest.
A 45-yarder was added in the fourth minute, followed by a 50-yarder in the final two minutes.
Aubrey, a 28-year-old rookie who was once a Major League Soccer prospect and came up in the Dallas area, has recorded the two longest kicks in his career. Eight of his have traveled a minimum of 50 yards.
Aubrey, who spent two seasons in the USFL, was given the opportunity by the Cowboys after they replaced Brett Maher, who failed to convert four consecutive extra points in a postseason victory at Tampa Bay last season.
After missing his first-ever NFL PAT in the season-opener against the New York Giants, Aubrey recorded 49 consecutive touchdowns, including extra points and field goals. On November 19, that run came to an end with an extra point miss against Carolina, and he missed another one the following game against Washington.
