The New York Times stated that after Trump’s detention on potential criminal charges, he said he enjoyed the thought of having to perform a “perp walk,” which entails marching by a group of reporters, photographers, and other spectators on their way into a courtroom.
According to the Times, which quoted a number of sources close to the former president, Trump even openly questioned whether or not to smile for the cameras.
Nobody is certain, however, if Trump’s words represent “bravery or actual resignation,” according to the newspaper. Those who have recently spent time with Trump told the Times that he looked to have become distant from the legal threats made against him in recent days.
Trump might be able to avoid the spectacle because American Secret Service personnel are working to keep him out.

After talking about the grand jury inquiry on Monday’s episode of Ari Melber on MSNBC, former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen was advised to steer clear of media appearances.
Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis said, “Given the delicate moment, I have recommended Michael to withdraw from televised appearances until further notice.”
On his way to and from meetings with the Manhattan Attorney’s Office, Cohen frequently spoke to reporters and appeared on television to discuss the probe.
He is also the key witness in the criminal case against Trump, as he was the person who paid porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election not to speak to the media about her claims of having had a sexual tryst with Trump in 2006.
