Charges of homicide have been brought against the San Jose man who is accused of abusing his girlfriend’s father

Police announced on Monday that a 33-year-old man is being charged with homicide for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend’s father in San Jose last month. The victim passed away as a result of the injuries she suffered.

When authorities were summoned to a family disturbance at a residence in the 50 block of Lester Avenue on November 13, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the assault was reported.

When the victim was discovered unconscious, the police were informed that Nikolas Anderson, the boyfriend of his daughter, had reportedly beaten him.

Following hospitalization for severe injuries and initial stabilization, the victim passed away on December 7, according to the police. His identity remained a secret.

Following an investigation, the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office determined that the death was caused by a homicide.

Suspected of homicide, Anderson, a San Jose resident, was taken into custody and lodged at Santa Clara County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Santa Clara County Superior Court on Tuesday, but he is being held without being granted bail.

This year, there have been 32 homicides in the city.
