The Dallas Cowboys are in position to face one of the league’s elite opponents and are hopeful to avoid a third consecutive loss.
On Saturday evening, the 11-4 Detroit Lions will visit Dallas.
This season, the Cowboys are undefeated at home. While Detroit is 6-2 away from home.
Already, the Lions have secured the NFC North Division championship. However, they are optimistic that their quarterfinal standing can be improved with only two games remaining.
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is cognizant of the fact that his squad will be challenged.
“This, I believe, will represent our greatest obstacle of the year. It is my subjective viewpoint. “Some people have different opinions regarding Philadelphia and previous games, but based on what we saw on video at the end of last weekend and yesterday, I believe this will be an incredible contest,” he said.
The matchup against Detroit was the subject of a discussion between FOX 4’s Jeff Kolb and Cowboys reporter Saad Yousuf of The Atlantic.

Smith did not practice Tuesday after missing the Cowboys’ Christmas Eve game in Miami with an injury.
Jerry Jones, the proprietor of the team, expressed optimism that the offensive tackle will be able to make an appearance in Saturday’s game.
