Decades-old rape cases in Dallas have been solved, and the culprit has been sentenced to sixty years in prison

Because of two sexual assaults that he committed more than twenty years ago, a guy from North Texas will be sentenced to spend the next sixty years in jail.

According to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, the jury barely deliberated for a total of 19 minutes before reaching a verdict of guilty for Adrian Cortes, who is 61 years old.

During the presentation, they were shown DNA evidence and heard testimony from two of the people who were killed by Cortes.

“What a remarkable demonstration of bravery and fairness. “It is truly remarkable that the man who committed these heinous crimes is being held accountable, and that the women he assaulted are providing assistance in the process,” stated the District Attorney for Dallas County, John Creuzot. “We thank those women for their bravery, strength, and trust in our office that we would see to it Mr. Cortes would pay for his crimes.”

It had been decades since the women had waited for justice.

In 1996, according to the District Attorney’s office, the first sexual assault occurred. On her way to work, a young woman who was pregnant was kidnapped by a man who was wearing a ski mask. The woman was strolling to the bus stop during her commute.

He approached her from behind, placed a gun on her head, and threatened to murder her if she shouted. He then got out of his vehicle. She was then brought to a nearby field, where he raped her while holding a gun to her head.
