Despite landing gear issues, a Delta jet lands successfully at CLT airport. The runway has reopened

The pilot told emergency authorities at the airport that he detected difficulties with the landing gear after attempting to land the jet at 9 a.m.

Flight path data reveal that when the plane approached the runway, it fell to an altitude of less than 1,000 feet before deviating from the landing.

According to emergency radio communications obtained by The Charlotte Observer via Broadcastify, the pilot began a “fly around” at that moment, and arrangements for the emergency landing were initiated.

When a landing on final approach is canceled, pilots commence a go-around and fly over the airport.

“They’ll be landing with the front gear up,” fire personnel said as the pilot flew over the location and confirmed the gear’s persistent failure.

“The crew told us there was an issue with the landing gear and instructed us to go over safety information,” an Observer news partner WSOC said. “We came in low and then climbed back up.” We braced ourselves the second time, but the landing was easy. There is no jarring or even loud noises.

“We were in the back, so that could explain it.” Everyone was evacuated using slides. So far as I know, there have been no injuries. The crew and pilots were fantastic!”

The Charlotte Fire Department, which operates two fire stations at the airport, responded immediately as passengers deplaned and promptly established that no one on board was injured.

“So this just happened…” one passenger tweeted. “We just landed in Charlotte, without nose gear, on Delta flight 1092!” The crew was fantastic, and the pilots landed it safely!”

According to emergency radio transmission, Charlotte Fire Airport Station workers reported no flames or fire originating from the aircraft.

According to Delta, passengers were not inspected or examined following the landing. Compensation for passengers aboard the plane will be determined later, according to the airline.

Meanwhile, the airport and Delta are attempting to remove the plane, which is expected to disrupt airport operations. According to FlightAware, 328 flights were delayed and 30 were canceled about 5 p.m.
