Emergency forces IndiGo’s Delhi-Doha flight to reroute to Karachi; one person dies

An onboard medical issue caused an IndiGo flight from the capital to Doha to be diverted to Karachi, the carrier reported on Monday.

The statement reads, “Unfortunately, on arrival, the passenger was certified dead by the airport medical staff. The flight 6E-1736 was diverted owing to the medical emergency.

The flight was headed to Doha, Qatar, however it was detoured to Karachi, Pakistan.

According to the airline, it was coordinating with the appropriate authorities to make plans for relocating the flight’s remaining passengers.

IndiGo released a statement saying, “We are profoundly saddened by the news, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
