Following abdominal surgery, Kate Middleton is hospitalized and cancels all engagements until Easter

Kate Middleton is in remission following surgery.

The Princess of Wales, who turned 42 earlier this month, underwent “planned abdominal surgery” at The London Clinic the day before, according to an announcement made by Kensington Palace on Wednesday.

“The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for 10 to 14 days, before returning home to continue her recovery,” according to a statement. “Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

“The Princess of Wales is delighted to see the attention that this statement will afford. The statement continued, “She hopes the public will appreciate her desire to preserve as much normalcy as possible for her children and to keep her personal medical information private.” “Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share.”

“All parties involved are cordially invited to accept the Princess of Wales’s apologies on her behalf for the delay in her forthcoming engagements. “She eagerly awaits the prompt reinstatement of the greatest number possible,” they continued.

The general public is aware that the matter was benign in nature.
