Following an accident and evading police in Dallas, a 19-year-old man was detained for driving while intoxicated

A 19-year-old man was taken into custody by the Dallas Police Department for driving while intoxicated and evading arrest after he allegedly ran away from authorities early on Saturday morning and then crashed into another vehicle.

It was shortly after two in the morning when cops attempted to pull over a vehicle that was being driven by Trent Aslin in the 2900 block of Thomas Avenue, according to the police. However, the police did not disclose the reason for the traffic stop.

According to the police, Aslin ran away and survived the ordeal.

After further investigation, it was discovered that Aslin had been involved in a collision that occurred at the intersection of Hall Street and Thomas Avenue.

The other driver was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

Aslin was taken into custody with charges of driving while intoxicated and fleeing arrest.

As the investigation by the police continues, no other information has been disclosed.
