The Houston Texans are having an outstanding start to the season. The team is 2-2 on the year, and rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud is playing incredibly thus far and appears like the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. However, the offensive line’s injury rate is a significant cause for concern. Injuries have been identified in Laremy Tunsil, Josh Jones, Michael Deiter, Tyrus Howard, Kenyon Green, and Juice Scruggs.
As if matters couldn’t get any worse, another lineman was lost for the season.
Guard Kendrick Green, who the Texans acquired in the offseason from the Pittsburgh Steelers, is out indefinitely after suffering a torn meniscus against his former team on Sunday. Green had departed the game due to a knee injury to his right knee.
Kendrick Green is out indefinitely with a knee injury, days after trouncing and defeating the Steelers.
Since his trade to the Texans, Green has been candid about his tenure with the Steelers. Last week, Houston defeated Pittsburgh by a score of 30-6 in a game that wasn’t even close, and Green had some joy at the expense of his former team.
“It ain’t gonna be sexy when I get my lick back” is a line from the song “Parade on Cleveland” by Young Thug, featuring Drake, which the Steelers tweeted after the game. Then, Green responded to a tweet by Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, who stated that the Steelers should “set sack records” against Houston for their offensive line and included Green’s name with “laughing crying emojis.” Green responded to Houston’s victory with a video that stated, “Geez Louise, life’s tough, man.”
Green stated prior to the contest that he is glad he is no longer with the Steelers and has the opportunity to play for the Texans. In addition, he wished to demonstrate his value against his former team in Week 4.
“I am pleased it occurred. “I’m glad I’m no longer there,” Green said, according to Steelers Depot. “I view it as just another game, and I’m going out there to perform my best. On the bright side, I will recognize a few acquaintances on the other side. When I was there, I was placed in a fairly precarious position, so I consider the outcome fortunate.
