IDF claims that after an explosive near the Gaza border exploded, it struck a Hamas unit

According to the Israel Defense Forces, militants blew off a remote device close to people on the Gaza border on Wednesday, appearing to escalate the conflict between the two sides. The IDF then claimed that it had attacked a Hamas military outpost in Gaza.

According to the IDF, its soldiers were “doing activity” in the Gaza security sector when the explosive device exploded. It said that in response to that incident, an Israeli tank shot.

Before assaulting the Hamas position, the Israeli military claimed to have observed Hamas soldiers detonating the covert explosive device next to an IDF bulldozer that was passing and clearing the Gaza border in sections.

According to the IDF, no soldiers were harmed in the incident. The IDF earlier reported that a missile was fired into Israel from Gaza, but there was no information on whether it had damaged or killed anyone. According to Israeli sources, the rocket may have been in retaliation for an IDF raid on Jenin on Tuesday that resulted in the deaths of many people whom the military claimed to be terrorists.

Israel, according to officials, did not respond to the rocket attack right away.

As the Israeli military entered a Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin on Tuesday, six Palestinians perished in the West Bank operation. According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, one individual was killed by his forces for the February killings of an Israeli soldier and his brother in Huwara.
