Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies will miss two games due to a handgun video

Star point guard Ja Morant will miss the next two games, according to the Memphis Grizzlies, after he attempted to show a pistol in an Instagram Live video on Saturday.

Morant “will be gone from the squad for at least the next two games,” according to a statement from the team.

According to ESPN, Morant may be seen rapping while without wearing a shirt and holding up a gun in the video.

In a statement earlier on Saturday, NBA spokesman Mike Bass stated, “We are aware of a social media post regarding Ja Morant and are looking into it.In a statement provided to ESPN, Morant said, “I take full responsibility for my conduct last night. I’m sorry for disappointing my family, friends, teammates, coaches, supporters, business partners, the city of Memphis, and the whole Grizzlies organization.

The most recent scandal concerning Morant occurred on Saturday. The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that following a fight with a 17-year-old at the player’s house last summer, Morant displayed a gun.

Also, he was looked into for reportedly using a laser pointer to target Indiana Pacers players after their victory on January 29.
