Some Hizbollah supporters held a rally in Dahiyeh, a subdivision of Beirut, Lebanon, carrying signs reading “Oh Quds, we are coming.”
The phrase is used to support the capture of Muslim sacred sites by Palestinian forces. Others stood on a flag of Israel.
At the Bourj al-Barajneh Palestinian refugee camp in Beirut, one man distributed candy to supporters, while others displayed victory signs similar to Winston Churchill’s wartime gesture.
A social media video allegedly depicted identical celebrations taking place in Baghdad, Iraq, where a convoy of supporters waved flags and honked their horns.
In Britain, some social media users supported the assaults.
Novara journalist Rivkah Brown tweeted: “Today should be a day of celebration for supporters of democracy and human rights worldwide, as Gazans escape their open-air confinement and Hamas fighters enter the territory of their colonizers.
The fight for freedom is rarely without bloodshed, and we should not apologize for that.
The president of the Palestinian Mission to the United Kingdom, Husam Zomlot, stated that “statements about ‘Israel’s right to self-defence’ will only be interpreted by the most fanatical Israeli government as a green light to commit additional massacres against the occupied Palestinian people.”
