In response to Ukraine’s claimed plans for a “military provocation against Transnistria,” Russia’s foreign ministry has threatened the country and stated that it will regard any Ukrainian activities in the area as a “attack on Russia.”
Regarding the claimed “substantial accumulation of people and military equipment of Ukrainian units near the Ukrainian-Pridnestrovian border” and “the deployment of artillery in firing positions,” the Russian Foreign Ministry quotes the Russian Defense Ministry in its statement.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has warned against taking “another adventurous move” and has promised to retaliate against the US, NATO, and Ukraine.The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that “any actions will be considered as an attack on the Russian Federation,” adding that “no one should have any doubts that the armed forces of the Russian Federation will adequately respond to the provocation of the Kiev regime, if it does happen, and ensure the protection of our compatriots, the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Transnistria.”
The Ukrainian government is allegedly planning a “armed provocation” against Transnistria, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. In response, Moldova stated that they had not independently verified the information released by the Russian Military Ministry and urged the populace to maintain their composure.Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Rechan recently announced the need to demilitarize Transnistria and remove Russian troops from the region. His statement caused outrage in the Kremlin.
