Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Step Out in New York City Amid His $1 Billion Business Deal

On March 15, pictures of the actor, 46, and the actress, 35, strolling hand in hand in NYC, were taken. Ryan wore a green puffer jacket, a matching hat, blue jeans, and sneakers to prepare for the cold weather. Blake, meanwhile, completed her ensemble with a matching pair of boots, a “NY” hat, and sunglasses in addition to a navy coat worn over a black hoodie and sweatpants.

The sighting occurred on the same day that it was revealed that Ryan’s prepaid wireless company Mint Mobile would be acquired by T-Mobile. In accordance with a press release, the acquisition is a component of the agreement T-Mobile has made to acquire Ka’ena Corporation and all of its brands and subsidiaries, including Mint Mobile as well as Ultra Mobile and Plum.

Added T-Mobile in the release that it “will pay up to a maximum of $1.35 billion in a combination of 39% cash and 61% stock to acquire Ka’ena.””I never dreamt I’d own a wireless company and I certainly never dreamt I’d sell it to T-Mobile,” Ryan, who purchased an ownership stake in Mint Mobile in 2019, tweeted. “Life is strange and I’m incredibly proud and grateful. #MintMobile.”

In a video with T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert for the announcement, the Deadpool actor, who is known for online playful trolling of everyone from Blake to Hugh Jackman, had some fun and made light of the company’s competition with his mother Tammy Reynolds.

In a statement to the press, Ryan, who will continue to serve in a creative capacity for Mint, said, “Mint Mobile is the best deal in wireless and today’s news only enhances our ability to deliver for our customers. We are thrilled that T-Mobile outbid my mom Tammy Reynolds’ aggressive last-minute offer because we think the strength of their 5G network will be a better strategic fit than my mom’s marginally above-average mahjong prowess.
