The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office discusses safety with the unsheltered community in the wake of a recent fatal collision

On Christmas Eve, after a fatal collision involving a 45-year-old Dallas man, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office addressed the unsheltered community regarding road safety and distributed gifts.

Sgt. Christopher Dyer of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office stated, “Today’s objective is to engage in dialogue with unsheltered individuals regarding the importance of exercising caution and avoiding intersections.”

Dyer was present alongside three deputies, where they distributed biscuits and educated individuals on safety precautions.

“We decided we would give them cookies since it’s Christmas Eve,” he continued.

They began their visit on Sunday at I-30 and Cockrell Hill Road in Dallas, one of twelve locations they visited.

On December 16, police reported that Terry Ivory was injured by Nestor Joel Lujan Flores while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Flores, according to the police, drove Terry’s corpse in his vehicle for forty miles into the Fort Worth suburb of White Settlement.
