The new mathematics digital supplement programme in Massachusetts is helping to accelerate the state’s academic growth

Students in grades four and eight will participate in the 2023-24 Mathematics Digital Supplement Programme. This programme was recently approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), and partial funding was allocated for it. MIND Education has been selected as the successful bidder for this programme, and the Digital Supplement Programme that is now accessible is ST Math. The objective of the programme is to hasten the process of student learning by providing varied student populations with rich and graphically based mathematical experiences.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) will contribute up to fifty percent of the total cost of licences for the ST Math programme for 4th and 8th grade, allowing Massachusetts school districts to acquire and adopt the programme, train personnel, and begin implementing the programme for the 2023-2024 school year. The Mathematics Digital Supplement Programme is open to applications from any public school, school district, or charter school in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This could be a fresh start with ST Maths, or it could be a continuation of the previous version.

Joe Dapson, who serves as the District Assessment Coordinator for Pittsfield Public Schools in Massachusetts, said that “ST Math has been such a game-changer for our district!” “Teachers and students alike adore the interactive riddles, the real-world connections, and the way that it encourages pupils to struggle in a way that is ultimately beneficial. There has been a change in the way that kids think about mathematics; rather than viewing it as a difficult task, they are instead embracing it as an exciting opportunity to solve problems.

MIND Education will make ST Math available to schools and districts, provide teachers with opportunities for professional development to help them successfully execute the programme, and make available a method that makes it possible to monitor students’ mathematical development and progress. Districts, schools, and charter schools in Massachusetts will decide their needs based on the number of students enrolled in their programmes and the amount of required professional development.

According to Brett Woudenberg, CEO of MIND, “We are excited to partner with DESE in Massachusetts in providing ST Math to their students in grades 4 and 8.” DESE stands for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. “We have witnessed the impact that ST Math has had directly on kids all around the country, and we continue to see progress in students’ level of mathematical competency as more students play ST Math. We are looking forward to collaborating with DESE to guarantee that all students are given the tools necessary to solve the most difficult problems in the world.
