The Warriors’ postponement of the Mavericks game following the demise of Dejan Milojevi was announced

The NBA postponed the Friday matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the Golden State Warriors in remembrance of Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevi, who passed away unexpectedly.

The league stated, “The date for the rescheduled game will be announced at a later time.”

Milojevi, a critical staff member who contributed significantly to the Warriors’ 2022 NBA championship, died of a heart attack in Utah on Wednesday, the team reported. His age at the time was 46 years.

Tuesday night, Milojevi perished in Salt Lake City, where he was admitted to the hospital following a medical emergency that occurred during a private team dinner. Wednesday night was the Warriors’ scheduled date with the Utah Jazz; however, the NBA had also canceled that contest.

In a statement issued by the organization, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said, “We are in utter disbelief over Dejan’s untimely death.” “This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him.”
