The wife of Jrue Holiday has issued a message that can only be described as heartbreaking in light of her husband’s blockbuster trade to the Celtics

Jrue Holiday, a former superstar for the Milwaukee Bucks, has already made the transition to the Boston Celtics and is working to help them win their first championship since 2008. However, as his family gets ready to follow him to Boston, Holiday’s wife, Lauren, posted a touching statement on social media about the huge emotional toll that player transactions take on their kin and the community as a whole.

I’m going to share this with everyone so that they can see that there are real individuals behind all of these transactions. Because, despite the fact that it’s a cliche, it’s personal, which means that there are actual individuals whose lives are being impacted by it. There is no such thing as “mere business.” A post was made on Instagram by Lauren Holiday, who had previously competed for the United States Women’s National Soccer Team. “On Wednesday, my hubby rested during the afternoon. When he came to, he learned that he had been relocated. There was not even a heads-up, much less a warning, alert, or discussion that this was even a possibility. It’s over and done with. Now that ‘it’s not personal, it’s business,’ move on with your life.

“So, yes, this is more than business,” concluded Lauren Holiday. “It’s personal.” “Not because it offends us, but because we are people, we are humans, we have relationships, dreams, and a connection to the place where we play,” they said. “Not because we are offended by it.” As I write this, we are both lamenting the loss of that and celebrating the optimism and joy that lie in store for us in the future. The key to personal development is learning how to transform the suffering we are experiencing in this moment into a source of strength that guides our actions going forward. That has always been and will continue to be the core of who we are as a company.

His time with the Bucks came to an end last week when Jrue Holiday was dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Damian Lillard. Holiday had spent the previous three seasons with the Bucks. The veteran and tenacious guard did not pack his belongings for Rip City, though, since he was aware that he would be relocated during the long-awaited and comprehensive renovation that the Blazers are about to undertake. Holiday was traded to the Boston Celtics on October 1st, and it is expected that he will continue to play for the Boston franchise after signing a new deal or an extension of his current one in free agency next summer.
