On Saturday, January 20, the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center will have an Open Model and Talent Call for models, actors, singers, and dancers between the ages of 16 and 50. The center’s purpose is to assist young people in achieving success in a variety of ways, and not just in athletics. Live auditions will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and registration will take place from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. (free of charge) for the general public.
According to Trina Terrell-Andrews, the Chief Executive Officer of the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center, “We are more than a training facility offering basketball skills; we are a multipurpose, multicultural center dedicated to educating and equipping young people on and off the court—and we are more than just a basketball training facility.” Our first objective is to ensure that young people who are willing to invest in themselves have access to a learning environment that is conducive to their well-being.
The program began in 2018, and it has been instrumental in launching the careers of a great number of North Texans in the fields of modeling and entertainment. For instance, Osayande Foster, who is currently 23 years old and is a successful model working with Kim Dawson and several other national agencies, was featured in a Nike advertisement. A model named Kim Dawson made hundreds of dollars for each shot, and another model is currently working with the singer Gwen Stefani during this time.
J3 Productions is a fashion show production and modeling management firm whose purpose is “to find the diamond in the rough and make him or her shine.” Willie Johnson, who is based in Dallas, is the one who is hosting the call.
The individuals who are selected will work with Johnson for a period of twelve weeks, during which time they will receive professional head shots and other forms of support. As the mother agency, J3 Production will be responsible for introducing the persons to other regional and national agencies. Johnson will also function in this capacity.
Female models should be 5 feet 7 inches tall, while male models should be 5 feet 11 inches tall and 6 feet 3 inches tall. It is recommended that dancers and singers bring music attached to a flash drive. Singers can be required to perform a song for thirty seconds, while dancers might be asked to do a routine that lasts for forty-five seconds. In some cases, a cold read may be requested of actors.
