Upon the birth of Sophia Grace Brownlee’s first child, Ellen DeGeneres refers to him as “Nicki Minaj the third.”

Sophia Grace Bronwlee has given birth to a baby! The “Ellen DeGeneres Show” star shared a sweet black-and-white photo of her tiny baby hands next to her own on Instagram. She simply added the date she gave birth—26 February—and a white heart emoji to the caption. Who was the first to leave a comment on the joyful post? Of course, Ellen DeGeneres. She wrote,

“Welcome to the world, Nicki Minaj the third!” in reference to Bronwlee’s well-known rendition of Minaj’s “Super Bass” on the TV program when she was only 8 years old. On her own Instagram, her cousin Rosie McClelland—who was also a cast member of the show—posted the baby picture and wrote, “I love him so much.”

On October 22, the 19-year-old made her pregnancy announcement via a video on her YouTube channel. She told her fans that she was “shocked” when she first learned of her pregnancy but that she was “super, super happy about it.” Following Brownlee’s announcement, 16-year-old singer McClelland shared a picture of herself cuddling up to her cousin along with a heartfelt caption.

Together forever, words cannot express the feeling she expressed in her letter. I don’t think I can change a diaper just yet, but I’m so looking forward to this next chapter. I love you so much. Brownlee made her pregnancy announcement a couple of weeks after the initial one. “I wasn’t shocked when I first learned I was pregnant with a boy because I just felt like from the start that I was going to be a boy mum,” she said on her YouTube channel.

Brownlee and McClelland became child stars following their initial appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2011. They went on to be regulars on the show and starred un their own 2014 film, “Sophie Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure”. While Bronwlee is not ready to reveal the identity of her baby’s father, she has said he is part of her life. Brownlee joins Molly-Mae Hague and Stacey Dooley in becoming a first-time mum this year, so she’s in good company. We just hope she’s been singing the Minaj lyric “Boy, you got my heartbeat runnin’ away” to her new son!
