Why a Harden reunion with the Rockets is not a good idea

After a messy breakup, the Rockets should put their attention on the future of their talented young core and pass on James Harden.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN made the decision to sabotage the holiday by dropping one of his infamous “Woj Bombs” early on Sunday morning while many people were still unwrapping their Christmas presents.

James Harden is reportedly mulling a potential reunion with the Houston Rockets, according to Woj’s sources. According to Spotrac’s Keith Smith, Harden might become a free agent following this season, and the Rockets anticipate having $59.3 million in cap space this coming summer.

James Harden is not required by the Houston Rockets.

Houston’s Harden tenure was a tremendously successful one for all sides despite the fact that they were never able to go over the Golden State Warriors hurdle. Regrettably, the James Harden trade request drama led to an unceremonious conclusion. The Rockets have since changed course to reassemble their squad around the draft and have added several extremely talented young players who have already demonstrated some promise.

Jalen Green, a guard in his second year, is already scoring over 20 points per game and appears to have all the makings of a potential NBA superstar. Alperen Sengun, a fellow draft classmate, as well as Jabari Smith, a rookie this year, have both displayed interesting promise when given the chance.

As of now, the Rockets have the league’s third-worst record and will probably end up with another top 5 pick in the upcoming draft.
